I had never been to Bruster’s before today & today, I visited not once, but twice! I got a gift card for my retirement from the Army 2.5 years ago & it has just been sitting with a stack of other gift cards. I had a molar tooth extracted yesterday & had to be on a liquid diet for 48-72 hours. So, I set out on a quest to find the best chocolate malt in Orange. Yesterday I tried Roger’s & Coldstone. They were great in their own ways in flavor & customer service. However, the “large” was not in fact large at all, & I felt like ~$12 for each was not a good value or bang for my buck at all & found it rather overpriced IMHO. Also, when asked, they said that they do not offer a military or Veteran discount, no worries, not every establishment does, but it never hurts to ask. New day today, & still on the quest. Enter Bruster’s. I had remembered receiving the gift card & hunted it down & headed to Bruster’s on Tustin, passing In-N-Out, Chick-fil-A, Baskin Robbins, & a host of other places I could’ve given a shot. Upon arriving at the window, I was greeted with a warm smile & pleasant demeanor by Seraphina (sorry, I probably butchered the spelling) & ordered the “biggest/largest” chocolate malt w/hot fudge & no whipped cream for myself & a large birthday cake batter one for my 16 y/o daughter who came along for the ride. I asked the employee if they gave a military/Veteran discount & she fired right back with a cheerful “absolutely”! I smiled & showed her my retired military ID & said thank you for doing that & told her I really appreciate that. She also had me get set up on the sweet rewards plan as well to start earning points. Waiting no more than a few minutes, Seraphina came back double fisted with two massive freshly prepared malts for my daughter & I. We couldn’t believe how big they were! & not only were the WAY bigger in size, but ALSO cheaper (even before the military/Veteran discount) than the ones I had yesterday from the other places. They were also ABSOLUTELY delicious!!! Later that evening, I ventured back for my “dinner” & ordered the same exact thing, this time from a different employee, but with the same exact enthusiastic fantastic customer service & smile. This time, not only did I receive a military/Veteran discount, but I had also earned a $3 reward from my earlier visit for signing up for the rewards program…SCORE!!! I then paid LESS THAN HALF of what I paid for yesterday’s malts with my gift card & smiled as I took the first taste on the way back to my truck. I still have more left on the gift card & will be planning on swinging by for “lunch” tomorrow after my post surgery check up with my dentist. I will ABSOLUTELY continue to return to Bruster’s in Orange to deplete my gift card balance & make regular visits when me or my family want to treat ourselves to a delicious cold dessert .Way to go, Team Bruster’s Orange! You now have the Jackson Family’s business for life & will be our #1 go to option for ice cream, malts, shakes, etc. You earned our complete & total loyalty in less than 24 hours. dairy free, incredible flavor choices ! you have five to choose from! Where is most places there’s only one. Also safe for gluten-free just talked to the wonderful staff. The owner and his wife are exceptional and they will always keep you safe.
